2009 Festival Recap The 6th annual Poppy Jasper Film Festival was a huge success screening 39 entered films and 5 invited films. Almost every screening had at least one film maker present who was happy to answer audience questions and enjoyed sharing experiences in making his/her film.
Friday night at the opening night event, the awards for 2009 were announced and presented. The winners and their categories were: Film

| Friday night ended with a party at the Granary catered by Mangia la Pizza and enhanced by wine from 3 local wineries.
Saturday included two exciting and very well attended workshops with Victor Miller's and Grant Richards providing insight into the importance of script and dialog and the overall business aspects of film making respectively.
After a full day of screenings, Saturday evening culminated in the keynote presentation - Mary Vogt, costume designer. She brought with her a special guest, actress Anna Simone Scott with whom she had worked in the past. After Mary described some of the behind the scenes anecdotes with the costuming and actors shown in the DVD of some of her designs, she and Anna sat on the stage and had a conversation with the audience sharing insights and experiences.
