This year, the marketing team is doing many new and exciting things to promote the PJFF to bring in more filmmakers and more people to watch the films. We are fortunate to have a strong marketing foundation built in the previous years. Now we need you to be part of our efforts to build on this foundation – to get the word out to filmmakers and fans just like you.
We need your help now, in the early days of this year’s Festival planning, to:
- call newspapers and find out how much ads cost
- research the cost of products
- distribute materials
- do Internet research on other film festivals pick up some of their ideas
- do Internet research on small community newspapers across the country so we can “talk” to the residents of other small communities just like ours
- help compile and organize contact information
- help build a contact and network list of interested “friends of PJFF”
- help us come up with ideas for building a stronger volunteer network
- help with our community-wide event to celebrate the PJFF this summer
- help with a Halloween showing of Victor Miller’s “Friday the 13th” and Scary Costume Party
- contribute creative ideas for slogans, tag lines, press releases, posters, etc.
- help design a “filmmaker package” (kind of like a gift kit) that we give to our filmmakers so that they walk away with a reminder of Morgan Hill and our cool film festival
- contribute ideas for creating a “personalized filmmaker experience” that gives visiting filmmakers a real sense of connection with our organization, our community, and our PJFF people (little touches like handwritten notes, assigning a “host” to each visiting filmmaker, etc.)
- help us plan PJFF social functions that are fun and keep us connected throughout the year
- contribute ideas for encouraging filmmakers to make their trip here a sightseeing adventure so that they’ll tell their friends at home all about this community, this area
- help us find ways to keep in touch with filmmakers AFTER the event so that they remain “friends” forever . . . one day one of them could be winning an Oscar, right?
- if you’ve got techie skills (or know someone who does), help us harness the power of YouTube, FaceBook, Myspace, etc. to tell the world about this great film festival!
- if you’ve always wanted to write, how about setting up a “FilmFestivalJunkie” blog about what it’s like to be involved in planning a film festival?
- and much, much more.
Whether you can give us ten minutes or ten hours of your help, we can use it all, and whatever you can do. |
