The Poppy Jasper Film Festival (PJFF)

announced it has awarded its fourth annual $1,000 scholarship

to Matthew Altamirano,

a Senior at Ann Sobrato High School in Morgan Hill, California.

Matthew has been engaged in the Visual Communications class at Sobrato since his junior year. He produces various video programs for the school and is the director of the film, Glory Days, which was produced at the school starring veteran actor Joe Estevez. Glory Days premiered on May 20th during the ARTTEC Festival of the Arts held at Sobrato.

“Andrew is a creative filmmaker who has directed an outstanding film, ‘Glory Days’, with relatively little experience in the film industry,” said Kim Bush, Chair, Poppy Jasper Film Festival. “We are proud to support his talents and look forward to seeing a lot more from Andrew as he continues to make his mark on the film industry.”
