Our 2006 Jurors

2006 Juror: Gary Berger Gary Berger is Executive Producer for Morgan Hill Public Access Television cable channel 19, has produced dozens of on-air studio and field productions, and has taught video editing and photography. A resident of Morgan Hill for 14 years, Gary has been on the PJFF Steering Committee since its inception. This is Gary's second year as Chair of Juror Operations.


2006 Juror: Andrew Junker Andrew Juncker has been a filmmaker since he was a child. He is a Gilroy resident and an alumnus of Gavilan College. He attended the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington where he received a B.A. emphasizing in film. He currently works at Gavilan College as the television studio technician and has worked on various film and video productions in the bay area. His tastes in film vary widely from big-budget Hollywood box office blasts to obscure avant-guarde enigmas. His short film "Micheal’s Storm" won the Juror’s Choice Award for Best Drama at the Poppy Jasper last year. This is his first year serving as a Juror.


2006 Juror: Diane Guerrazzi Diane Guerrazzi is an emmy-award-winning reporter on KTVU-TV. She has more than 25 years' experience in television news, mostly in the Bay Area. She also teaches Broadcast and Print Journalism at the University of Santa Clara and Gavilan College. Diane holds a Masters in Journalism from the University of Southern California and Bachelors Degrees in Political Science and Italian from UC Berkeley. Her interest in film began while a student at Berkeley, watching Fellini in Italian and understanding it! A native San Franciscan, Diane has just moved to San Juan Bautista, after living in Morgan Hill for ten years. She's a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.


2006 Juror: Peter WalshPeter Walsh is a Canadian film maker, writer & photographer and Morgan Hill resident who has worked 30 years in the Film & Television industries in Toronto, New York & Los Angeles. Mr. Walsh has produced and/or directed & written numerous documentaries, commercials and dramas. His work has won awards in national & international festivals and been shown on networks including PBS & NBC. Award winning documentaries include; Gonngashan White Peak in the Clouds ( CBC,PBS) which was shot in Tibet and China. STRIPTEASE, a documentary about working women unionizing, won various awards (Chicago, San Francisco) and honorable mentions and was a favorite of the women’s movement. In 1992 Mr. Walsh founded New World Media Alliance in New York City, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to social issues. He produced documentaries on subjects ranging from bio-energy healing to abortion rights, end of life decision making, & patient self determination. The films were produced in conjunction with a number of national foundations including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Mr. Walsh has given seminars on his work and documentary film making at many colleges & universities in Canada & the U.S including the American Film Institute & USC.


2006 Juror: Kate LutzKate Lutz has been in the Morgan Hill community since 2001, bringing her passion about life, art, nature and stories whether in movies, plays or poetry or improv. Retired from nursing, she now sings with the Aromas Threshold Choir for the past two years, and she is an active partner in the family real estate business with her husband. Kate is an articulate and discerning film lover and enjoys discussing the subtle and not so subtle nuances of a well-made film. Several family members currently work in sound and lighting in L.A. She and her husband often create stories together, and they plan to segue out of real estate and into short films when they retire next year.
